Intarsia occurs as form of wood inlaying that is similar to marquetry. These are believed to use at times developed within Sicily, and a art was widely practised around Italy from around 1400 to 1600.

These are a craft of applying varied shapes, sizes & metal money of wood fitted together to produce an about Three-D inlaid, mosaic-prefer picture. These are thought that a word 'intarsia' is from either a Latin word 'interserere' which means "to insert" & that it wwhen originally developed withwithin Siena, Italy in the 13th century by craftsman applying inlays of ivory inserted in wood besides as inlays of wood inserted into wall wall painting, table tops & more article of furniture.

Now, intarsia is created by finding different types of wood, utilizing its natural grain system & colors (like than dyes & stains) to produce a different colour the pattern. Every piece of wood is so one by one crafted by cutting, shaping, sanding, & finishing prior to fitting the children together such as the jig saw puzzle & gluing the babies to the piece of 1/4 inch plyboard backing cut to the shape of the final product. Occasionally, extra pieces of plyboard come utilized to raise areas of the pattern to produce extra depth. It used to be that together, a final layer of finish is applied & the task is complete.
